Although it’s not as popular as La Roche Posay, Vichy and Avène, Lierac is the typical French pharmacy brand, one that combines efficacy with sensory experiences. It was established in 1975 by a cosmetic doctor and was the first one dedicated to correct the signs of ageing on the face and body. The range includes products with lifting and filling effects, exfoliants, serums and sunscreens.
I saw the brand first at Parisian pharmacies but only in a Duane Reade, in New York, a couple of years later, I became more interested in the Body Slim line, to fight cellulite and bloating, and Luminescence, to brighten and improve the skin texture. A year later, in a trip to California, I finally bought my first item: Coherence Lip, that worked as a lip balm and helps reduce those undesirable fine lines around the mouth (writing this post made we want to repurchase but it looks like it’s no longer available). It was really good!
